Mademoiselle Desserts

The Brief

Mademoiselle Desserts are a leading supplier of cakes and desserts who supply wholesalers, restaurants, pubs, coffee shops and cafes across the UK and Europe. They have three bakeries in the UK located in Maidenhead, Corby, and Taunton.

They had a requirement to implement an interconnected EV charging infrastructure across all three bakeries, ensuring they can support their EV driving staff and transition to an EV fleet to improve their carbon footprint as we collectively work towards Net Zero 2050 in the UK.

The Solution

FM Services Group Ltd (t/a EV Planet) were awarded the tender following a site-survey and consultation in which their requirements were analysed.

We tasked our diversly skilled and experienced team with the electrical and technological design of the interconnected EV charging infrastructure, ensuring it met the customers social, environmental, governance, and technological goals, while ensuring they were future proofed and equipped to support their growing EV fleet.

The proposed solution amounted to a total AC power output of 264kW’s across all locations. Providing them the capability to substantially reduce their fuel expenses and C02 emissions.

Works Overview

The works consisted of installing 6 chargepoints across their 3 UK bakeries. In order to avoid productivity disruption, we liaised closely with the customer to ensure the chargepoints were installed in an efficient manner.

To improve productivity and reduce downtime, the installations were carried out in phases; commencing with civils, followed by the implementation of the electrical infrastructure, concluded by termination, testing, and handover of all chargepoints. All of which were implemented with futureproofing in mind, ensuring they can support their growing EV and plug-in fleet.

During the works, our technology team proceeded to programme all sites and chargepoints to the back-end software, ensuring the set up aligned with Mademoiselles’ social, governance, and technological goals per site.

All sites and changepoints are administrable from a centralised location, providing the ability to; view active charging sessions, manage all chargepoints, manage users and user groups, manage tariff groups, generate usage reports per chargepoint and user, programme RFID tags, and reserve charging sessions. Our technology team was also tasked with liaised with Mademoiselle Dessert’s IT providers to ensure the chargepoints were safely protected under the networks security system and could communicate with external cloud servers hosting the back-end software.
